Training children
Children are the greatest treasure for the family and for society. They need great care and careful upbringing. The Bible commands us to teach our kids to be godly and to love God and His Word.
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:6,7
Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
In order to fulfill these commandments, we teach families to pay special attention to their children and to invest in their education. To support family upbringing, the church develops and organizes different forms of training for kids. Every Sunday morning children have their own service at church. There they learn Bible stories and the principles that can be learned from them.
Each year we organize camps at the sea for children and teenagers. The children spend the week together, studying the Bible and implementing what they have learned.

Teenagers prepare Bible lessons and give sermons to the younger campers every night. In this way they both grow in their understanding of the Bible and are able to pass what they have learned on to others.
The scout camp in the spring has become a tradition. Here, the participants are taught additional skills, like how to develop a sense of direction, how to survive, put up a tent, make camp and so on. Family upbringing remains the most important and foundational factor in the life of a child. If parents do not take the responsibility to raise their children in word and example, no institution can fill this void. So we appeal to parents to teach their children to love God and his Word and to set a good example with their family life – in this way they shape their children’s outlook on life. We encourage parents to send their children to Sunday school and to support teachers who have devoted themselves to work for their children’s good.
