What is a PodCast?
(iPOD broadCAST) It is an audio or video transmission intended for listening or watching. Although most PodCasts are listened to or watched on a computer, the original idea was to use portable devices like iPod ("Pod" comes from "iPod").
PodCasts are available through subscription. They use “podcatchers” which can be either web-based ((Google, Podnova, etc.) or installed on your local device (iTunes, Juice, etc.). When using local podcatchers, PodCasts are downloaded first onto your computer and then transferred to your portable devices (iPod, iPhone, etc.).Once you have a subscription, each new PodCast is automatically downloaded to your podcatcher, without having to do anything. In this way you never miss any new files.
