Praise and worship

Music is a language that more and more people speak and understand. The influence and message of music is huge. But what is its message? It has the ability to destroy but it is also can build up. It depends who is going to use it. Music, song and dance can unleash the most despicable human passions. However, music can also express the most noble and pure desires and aspirations of the human heart.

In music and poetry we can talk to God and address our neighbor. We can pour out our hearts in a prayer of thankfulness or a cry for help. And this is nothing new. Ever since ancient times, the men and women, who were deeply devoted to God, have sung and praised their Creator. The Book of Psalms is placed in the heart of the Bible. It is poetry that the people of God have created, when inspired by the Holy Spirit, in order to worship Him.
Today we use music to express our respect, admiration and devotion to God. We do not denounce tradition, however we seek a living, pulsating way to share our thoughts and emotions and praise the Lord.

Someone might ask, “Why do we have to praise the Lord?” The answer is, “We do not have to”. Praise, admiration and worship are a natural result of encountering the living God. It is not possible for a man to stand before the greatness of creation, the immensity of the Universe, and not be left speechless in awe. It is even more impossible for a human to approach the Maker of this majestic creation and not fall on their face with reverence. True praise and worship of God is not a product of external pressure, but rather an internal outburst of a heart filled with admiration and gratitude.
In one of his conversations, Jesus Christ said, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks”.

People who worship God with an honest heart are those who do it in their daily life, with the music of their lives. Worship does not consist of songs and poetry alone. True praise continues every day of our lives. With each one of our actions, we either show respect for our Father, or we dishonor Him. So when we sing, we are simply confirming what we have already said with our conduct.

Because we have heard, we have seen with our eyes, we have looked at and our hands have touched the Word of life… because we have touched the living God, Jesus Christ… because our sins have been forgiven and our hearts have been lit by love… we admire, praise and worship God with all our being; and we invite everyone to come and see that God is good and his mercies endure forever.
